Quinn Ewers, the Texas Longhorns’ two-year returning starter quarterback, is the subject of a lot of buzz. Most recently, On3 projected that the Ewers would place second in the 2024 Heisman Trophy voting.
From On3: “Ewers hasn’t quite lived up to his ranking as the top overall prospect, but maybe that changes coming autumn. With a schedule that includes Michigan, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M, the third-year starter for the Longhorns has proven to be at his best in pivotal moments (see: Alabama, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State last season). Ewers will have plenty of opportunities to perform in the spotlight. Despite having a totally new group of wide receivers to work with, he threw for 3,500 yards last season, and Texas has another talented receiving group this autumn. Ewers will be a Top 5 candidate overall, not just in the SEC, but across the board, if he can play more consistently and help Texas rebuild itself into a national championship contender.
