Luton Town midfielder Luke Berry is having a medical at Charlton Athletic on Tuesday (11 June) ahead of joining the club on a free transfer, sources have told Football Insider.
Berry, 31, is a free agent upon the expiration of his contract at Luton at the end of this month and Charlton have moved to agree a deal to bring the player to The Valley.
The former Barnsley man played a key role in helping Luton win promotion to the Premier League in the 2022-23 season.
His imminent move to Charlton will see Berry link up again with his former Luton boss Nathan Jones.
He made 20 appearances in all competitions last season, chipping in with two goals and three assists.
17 of those outings came in the Premier League but Berry started just two of a possible 38 games in the top flight last season as Luton were relegated.
He joined the Hatters in 2017 from Cambridge United and has gone on to make 184 appearances for the Hertfordshire club, notching 26 goals and 17 assists.
Berry came through the youth ranks at Cambridge and has also played in League One for Barnsley.
Charlton finished 16th in the third tier last season after Jones arrived in February.
The Welshman, who took his first job since being sacked by Premier League Southampton, has won four of his first 16 games at The Valley.
Jones has already wrapped up the signing of Cambridge United goalkeeper Will Mannion this summer.
