Michigan basketball teams will play Oklahoma in an event with a Jordan theme.

This season, the basketball teams from Michigan will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina, to participate in the Jumpman Invitational once more. They will each play Oklahoma on separate nights this time.
Several sources state that the men’s game at Spectrum Centre on December 18 will follow the women’s game on December 17. The other participating colleges are Florida and North Carolina, just like the previous two years (their women’s teams play on December 17 and their men’s teams on December 17). These four institutions comprise the original four to ink basketball and football clothing cooperation agreements with Jordan Brand.
The Oklahoma women finished 23-10 in the previous season and were seeded 5 in the NCAA Tournament. They won one game but lost to Indiana, the 4th-seeded team, in the second round. The Sooners, who finished 15-3 in the Big 12 last season, will play in the SEC the following year. In addition to welcoming back co-Big 12 Player of the Year Skylar Vann, they also added 6-foot-4 centre Raegan Beers, a transfer from Oregon State, who averaged 17.5 points and 10.7 rebounds per game the previous campaign. According to ESPN’s early top-25 rankings, they are ranked No. 13.
The guys from Oklahoma spent a large portion of March hovering around the NCAA Tournament bubble, but they finished 20-12 instead.
The 2024–25 basketball schedule is still being finalised. The Michigan women have announced that they will play South Carolina, the reigning national champion, in Las Vegas on November 4 to start the season. Thanksgiving week, the men will participate in the Fort Myers (Florida) Tip-Off, with one game each day on November 25 and November 27. The contests between South Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Xavier are also part of the field; they have not been disclosed. In relation to such event, a report stated that the Wolverines will host Miami Ohio. According to a source, they will also play Arkansas in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden in New York early in December.
Dusty May, the first-year head coach of the Michigan men’s basketball team, announced on Monday that the nonconference schedule is nearly finished. He mentioned that a third-party company was involved in the programme to assist with it. May stated on the “Defend the Block” podcast, “We’re working with them to try to choose the teams that will help us as far as seeding in the NCAA Tournament but also teams that play a certain style.” “The games that are left are the ones that are the easiest to schedule right now.”
The dates will be revealed later. The Big Ten games are already known. Teams for men and women will play 20 and 18 conference games, respectively. This summer, Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington will become league members.
Florida swept Michigan at the previous season’s Jumpman Invitational, with the men falling short in double overtime. The men lost the 2022 inaugural tournament, while the ladies defeated North Carolina.
