Jack Walton, who returned to Tannadice on a one-year loan from Luton Town, argues he has “unfinished business” at Dundee United.
Walton, 26, was a huge hit for the Tangerines as they easily won the Championship, setting a new club record for United with his 19 clean sheets in 36 league games. He only gave up 23 goals.
As a result, he was Jim Goodwin’s main priority when he looked to acquire a No. 1 goalkeeper in preparation for the Tangerines’ Premiership comeback.
And on Tuesday night, contingent upon permission from the Scottish FA and elsewhere, he had his guy.

Walton stated on the official Dundee United website, “I’m thrilled to have the deal finalized.” The conversations began as soon as the previous season concluded.
“Last year, we had tremendous success individually and as a group, and I felt that there was still something I needed to do with our promotion. A taste of the Premiership was what I desired.
Goodwin: Walton exuded calmness.
Walton joins Will Ferry, Vicko Sevelj, Ryan Strain, Dave Richards, and United as their fifth summer addition as they quickly assemble for the next season at Tannadice.
It’s also expected that Kristijan Trapanovski will arrive this week.

“Jack was a big presence in our defense last season,” praised Goodwin. He was a constant source of calm behind the backline, made some crucial stops that helped us win the title, and distinguished himself in his area of authority.
Due to the transition, Jack Newman, the Scotland U/21 goalkeeper for United, may be able to go out on loan; Inverness Caledonian Thistle is currently leading the race.
