Michigan football starts hosting recruits for official visits on May 31 though most will take place in the pivotal month of June. Over the next month, the 2025 class will be forged as the Wolverines start to see commitments come their way.
The maize and blue have five commits, a number that seems destined to keep growing and shrinking throughout the cycle. Cornerback Chris Ewald and linebacker Mantrez Walker have come and gone, but for the moment, the Wolverines appear to have a handle on the group it has pledged. Starting in June, you can expect that number to finally grow.
With that in mind, we’re going to start making monthly predictions as to what the class ends up looking like. Using the median number of 25 commits, we’re projecting what the 2025 class will be along with confidence levels we have in each prediction.
When Smith committed to Michigan football in the fall, it was done with little fanfare. Now, the dual-threat quarterback may end up being a blessing in disguise.
At the time of his pledge, all of Michigan’s chips were in for five-star Bryce Underwood, but Smith has risen from a three-star with little hype to a four-star who could be a game-changer for the Wolverines.
Mills-Wright is a three-star from Chattanooga, Tennessee, who quietly and quickly amassed 35 offers, many from premier college programs. Because of that, it’s difficult to ascertain if he’ll end up in the class. He’s still doing his due diligence. Despite the late start by Michigan, the Wolverines are in the thick of it with him. He’s expected to take an official visit on June 4.
