The NHL revealed the order for the 2024 NHL Draft today on a ESPN Show. The Wild will be picking in the first round with pick No. 13.
Only picks 1-16 could be revealed because the playoffs are still going on so picks 17-32 will be based on how the final standings after the playoffs goes.
But we now know the Wild will be picking at No. 13.
There was a 2 percent chance the Wild could win the lottery but they would only be allowed to move up ten spots which means the highest they could’ve picked would’ve been No. 3.
There was also a chance the Wild could’ve moved back in the draft order by one or two spots if anyone behind them moved up but that is not the case.
The Wild have never picked 13th overall in their history.
They have received 12 top-15 draft picks though.
The last time the Wild had a pick in the top-15 was 2020.
They drafted Marco Rossi with the ninth overall pick.
The year before that they took Matt Boldy with the 12th overall pick.
Pick No. 13 hasn’t been a bad spot to pick in the last ten year.
Below is a list of the last ten 13th overall picks, how many games they have played and how many points they have recorded.
