The closer the 2024 season gets, the more material the Panthers receive for their bulletin boards.

While there is cause for hope for the Carolina Panthers going into the 2024 NFL season, ESPN isn’t buying it.
The Panthers were dead last at position 32 in ESPN’s 2024 Football Power Index, with a score of -6.7.
The New England Patriots and Denver Broncos were the teams ranked higher than Carolina. At least according to the global leader in sports, 2024 doesn’t seem promising.
According to ESPN, a club’s success for the remainder of the season may be most accurately predicted using the Football Power Index (FPI), a measure of team strength. A team’s FPI indicates how many points above or below the average they are. Based on FPI, current results, and the remaining schedule, 10,000 simulations of the remainder of the season are used to project outcomes.
It is not difficult to see a scenario in which the Panthers once more emerge as the NFL’s bottom team. The front management has made measures, though, to guarantee that in the event that the squad is not successful, it has tried its hardest to get better.
By acquiring Damien Lewis and Robert Hunt, the Panthers added offensive line insurance. Young’s rookie season saw him rank among the NFL’s most-sacked quarterbacks. His second season is all about protection.
Since newly hired head coach Dave Canales has stated that he wants to start the game with the run game, Young should have more opportunities to connect with wide outs Adam Thielen, Xavier Legette, and Diontae Johnson through play action.
After recovering from his ACL injury, Jonathan Brooks offers much-needed variety in the backfield. Chuba Hubbard, who just finished a tremendous season, is another player from Carolina.
Despite ESPN’s disapproval of the Panthers, the team shouldn’t be written out. There’s plenty to be optimistic about. Midway through the season, it wouldn’t be astonishing if Carolina is still vying for a Wild Card playoff place.
