The newest player on Auburn’s roster is going back to school.
Transfer to Georgia Tech Following his Sunday commitment to the Tigers, Miles Kelly withdrew his name from consideration for the NBA draft by Wednesday’s league deadline, as Auburn Undercover was informed by a person with direct knowledge of the issue. Kelly is anticipated to sign with Auburn shortly after.
Only Kelly, a 6-foot-6 guard who led Georgia Tech in scoring the previous two seasons, has signed a contract with the team. Summer training began this week in Neville Arena. SMU transfer big Ja’Heim Hudson, Furman point guard transfer JP Pegues, and freshman wing Jahki Howard have all reported. Tahaad Pettiford, a 5-star freshman point guard, and Kelly are anticipated to arrive shortly.
Kelly, who is still eligible for one season, signed up for the draft last month and a few weeks later put his name on the transfer portal. Before pulling out of the draft that evening, he worked out for the Golden State Warriors earlier in the day on Wednesday.
Kelly, who was projected as a possible second-round pick prior to the current campaign, averaged 13.9 points per game in 2023–24 while shooting 37% from the field and 32% from beyond the arc. There were eight times he scored twenty points or more.
Bruce Pearl was looking for another guard to complete his backcourt, as he only had one space left on the roster. With Denver Jones and Chad Baker-Mazara back as starters, Kelly now fills the 2 and 3 spots thanks to Pettiford’s flexibility in allowing him to play both positions.

This weekend, UCF will play home to twelve defensive prospects for Bounce House Weekend. Stephen Leonard examines the current status of each prospect’s recruitment.

FLORIDA’S ORLANDO In less than a day, the UCF Knights will begin their fourth-annual Bounce House Weekend. More than twenty outstanding prospects will travel to Orlando’s I-Drive to experience what it means to “live where the world vacations” and to meet with head coach Gus Malzahn. Malzahn’s staff has secured multiple pledges from the last three events, including some shocks for the college football world, like Kylan Fox and John Walker. Half of the 24 recruits for this class are on the defensive end of the ball, consisting of a combination of front seven and defensive backs. The coaching staff has undergone some changes as Ted Roof joins the Knights as the linebackers coach and defensive coordinator while Trovon Reed assumes the role of cornerbacks coach. These two will try to build on their early success in the class of 2025 recruiting cycle, as has the defensive staff as a whole. Two of the five UCF-committed guys who will be present are defensive talents who will aid the Knights in their efforts to entice additional prospects. TV and kickoff times for Auburn’s first three games are announced.
Fans of Auburn University can begin setting their calendars for the first three weeks of the 2024 season, since the SEC has published the kickoff times. Kickoff times for the first three weeks of the 2024 season were released by the SEC on Thursday, providing Auburn with schedule details for their home games against Alabama A&M, Cal, and New Mexico.

Auburn’s second game under Hugh Freeze will begin at 6:30 p.m. CST (ESPN+) versus FCS team Alabama A&M. This will be Auburn’s third meeting with A&M since 2012. Week 2 kickoffs at 2:30 p.m. CST (ESPN2), with Auburn hosting Cal in a replay of last year’s west coast snoozer. With a goal of going 3-0 before hosting Arkansas to kick off SEC action the following week, Auburn takes on New Mexico in Week 3 at 6:30 p.m. CST (ESPN2 or ESPNU).
Following its first three nonconference games, Auburn will play six straight SEC games. Oklahoma will play its first conference road game at Jordan-Hare Stadium as an SEC program, and Auburn will also play three straight road games at Georgia, Missouri, and Kentucky. Auburn’s October schedule is set to consist of just one home game and one bye week.
Kickoff times for the full 2024 season will be revealed by the end of June, according to SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey, who made the announcement this week during the SEC spring meetings.
When Auburn last played Alabama A&M, they won 55-0. The week before the Iron Bowl, the Tigers rushed for 451 yards. The only previous encounter was in 2012, when Auburn won 51–7.
After defeating the Golden Bears 14–10 in Berkeley the previous year, Auburn now plays an ACC team after Cal transferred from the now-defunct Pac–12 conference. After the Tigers’ defense played a magnificent game, Payton Thorne gave a touchdown pass to Rivaldo Fairweather with 6:31 left to win.
