AM LEAVING: head coach John Dobson threaten to leave Stormers if nothing is done about this!
Glasgow Warriors have reached the last four of the BKT United Rugby Championship and face Munster in the play-off semi-finals this weekend in Ireland.
The sides met at the quarter-final stage last season, with Munster winning 14-5 at Scotstoun after the hosts had stand-off Tom Jordan sent off in the first half. The Irish side went on to win the URC, beating the South African side the Stormers in the final in Cape Town.
Glasgow beat the Stormers in this season’s quarter-final last weekend while Munster overcame Welsh side the Ospreys. The two sides have already met in the league this season and Munster came out on top, winning 40-29 in Cork.
The defending champions are the form team having won their last 10 URC matches which is their best run since 2011 and have lost only once (to Leinster) in Limerick this season. Glasgow have played in nine previous Championship semi-finals, winning three. The Warriors have lost all five semi-finals they have played away from home.
The winners of the tie will meet either the Bulls or Leinster in the final.
The URC semi-final takes place at Thomond Park in Limerick on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Kick-off is at 6pm.
The match will be broadcast live in the UK on subscription channel Premier Sports. Coverage will start at 5.15pm and former Scotland internationals John Barclay and Ryan Wilson are part of the team which will provide comment and analysis.
Fans can stream the match via the Premier Sports website.
Glasgow have named an unchanged starting side as head coach Franco Smith keeps faith with the men who beat the Stormers. There is one change on the bench, with Murphy Walker replacing Nathan McBeth who suffered a concussion in the quarter-final. Munster have made four changes, with full-back Mike Haley, centre Alex Nankivell, lock Fineen Wycherley and No 8 Jack O’Donoghue all coming into the team.
