The Boston Bruins have made significant strides this offseason by adding big-ticket free agents Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov.
These additions give the Boston Bruins front-line players needed to remain competitive in the stacked Atlantic Division.
While Lindholm gives the Bruins the number-one center they have needed, and Zadorov becomes the team’s top shutdown defenseman, there are still areas to be addressed.
So, here’s a look at three points that still need to be dealt with before training camps open in the fall.
Kampfer, 35, has experience playing in the KHL, as he played for Kazan Ak-Bars during the 2021-22 season following his second stint as a Bruin.
After posting 30 points in 46 KHL games, Kampfer returned to North America in 2022-23 and had stints with the Grand Rapids Griffins and Tucson Roadrunners.
During this past season with the Roadrunners, the Ann Arbor, Michigan native had three goals, 22 points, and a minus-1 rating in 45 games.
Kampfer’s last NHL appearance came during the 2020-21 season when he was a depth defender for the Bruins.
Now, after three straight years in the AHL, he will once again be taking his talents to the KHL.
During his days with the Bruins, Kampfer was a serviceable seventh defenseman.
In 113 career games over five seasons with the Bruins, Kampfer had 10 goals, 25 points, and a plus-14 rating.
The Michigan native appeared in 55 games with the Providence Bruins during the 2023-24 AHL season, recording four goals and 22 assists.
In total, Regula has played in 163 career AHL games for Providence and the Rockford IceHogs, tallying 16 goals and 61 assists.
In the NHL, Regula has skated in 22 NHL games with the Chicago Blackhawks, where he scored one goal.
