With their potential future quarterback already on the roster, the Washington Commanders may be in the final stages of their dog days.
They selected the extremely talented Jayden Daniels with the second overall pick in the April draft. The Heisman Trophy winner will try to turn the long-suffering Commanders into champions.
Terry McLaurin, a prominent wide receiver, stated on ESPN that Daniels is a self-driven and diligent worker who is accustomed to success. Daniels attended Louisiana State University.
During his time with the Tigers the previous year, Daniels set an NCAA single-season record with a 208.0 passer rating and threw for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns on a 72.2 percent completion percentage.
Additionally, in 2023, he demonstrated his dual-threat abilities by adding 1,134 running yards and 10 touchdowns.
McLaurin has exceeded 1,000 yards in each of the previous four seasons, so Daniels will have a reliable and credible playmaking threat right away.
Austin Ekeler, a free agent signing who can play both running back and wide receiver, is another guy who could contribute to Daniels’ immediate development.
The Commanders’ supporters are aching for some genuine success because they have only seen the team make the playoffs six times in the previous thirty years and have only won two games there.
After winning three Super Bowl titles in the 1980s and early 1990s, the team rose to prominence in the NFL, but their prosperity swiftly faded.
Maybe not too long from now on, with Daniels and a new ownership group in place, Washington will be a consistent postseason threat once more.
