Angel Reese made WNBA history on Thursday. The superstar rookie for the Chicago Sky is off to a torrid start to her pro career. She’s also off to a history-making start to her career.
Reese became the first WNBA player ever to record as many as seven double-doubles in her rookie season. No player before her in their rookie season collected as many consecutively, and she’s already done it a mere few weeks into the season.
Reese passed WNBA legends Tina Charles and Cindy Brown in achieving the mark.
Reese has simply been outstanding since she took the floor in the WNBA. After her record-setting performance, Reese was humble with her words.
“I’m just happy we finally won,” Reese said. “And at home. It’s super exciting obviously for myself. I try to give myself some grace and tell myself I’m doing a good job. But I have so much more to grow and I’m excited to be in this league and excited to win some more.”
Despite hate she receives often, Reese is playing her game at an elite level right now.
