Going into the summer transfer window, Kieran McKenna, the manager of Ipswich Town, is still interested in Blackburn Rovers forward Sam Gallagher. Rovers turned down three of McKenna’s January proposals for the player, but as the manager and his backroom team prepare for a rigorous top-flight season, the drama may flare up again.
The highest bid from the Tractor Boys was £1.5 million, but Blackburn refused to sell the 28-year-old and put an end to the deal. Since then, Gallagher has extended his deal with Rovers through the 2025 summer season.
The versatile forward may leave during the winter window, and Ipswich is one of the teams that has shown interest in him recently. McKenna still believes Gallagher, who can play up top or out wide, would be a good fit at Portman Road, according to Express Sport.

Gallagher has also been added to Swansea City’s want list for attacking players. Luton Town, on the other hand, has been demoted and must first sort out their internal issues before determining which members of their team require additional funding.
The Gallagher race is still in its early stages and may continue well into the summer. In light of connections to players like Eddie Nketiah of Arsenal and Armando Broja of Chelsea, Ipswich will be eager to find McKenna goals that are assured.
Compared to Gallagher, who only scored three goals in the Championship last season, both targets would provide a bigger goal threat, but their fees would also be much higher.
