Top Home Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart of the New York Knicks may have been expecting to luck the New York Rangers in their Eastern Conference Finals Game 5 against the Florida Panthers.
However, the Blueshirts were defeated by the Panthers due to their inability to score enough goals. With one more loss, the Rangers will be out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
At Madison Square Garden to watch the hockey game were Brunson, Hart, Jalen’s father, Rick Brunson, and Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau.
In addition to sporting a vintage Mark Messier jersey, Jalen was spotted posing for pictures with his left hand in some sort of splint following an injury sustained during the series against the Indiana Pacers.
In the fifth game of a series in which the clubs have split the previous four games by a single goal, Anton Lundell broke a tie with 9:38 remaining and the Panthers defeated the Rangers 3-2. This one didn’t require more time than the other three.

After a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory over the New York Rangers, the Florida Panthers TAKE the lead in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Sam Bennett and Gustav Forsling both added goals, while Sergei Bobrovsky made 25 saves to aid the Panthers, who were defeated by Vegas for the championship game the previous year, in winning their second straight best-of-series series.
According to Bennett, the Panthers are not discussing going back to the Cup final. Though they have good memories of the previous season, they are just paying attention to one game at a time.
“It really helps,” Bennett remarked. To be aware of the grind. How challenging it is. How much work and perseverance is required to succeed and get thus far? We had a great year last year.
The Rangers’ goals came from Chris Kreider and Alexis Lafreniere, and Igor Shesterkin turned in yet another outstanding performance with 34 saves. For the first time since 2014, the Presidents’ Trophy winners must win two in a row to advance to the championship game. Mike Zibanejad provided two helpers.
