The Cardinals will honor Harry Douglas’ No. 85 jersey Sept. 7 against Jacksonville State, followed by Teddy Bridgewater’s No. 5 jersey Oct. 19 during their homecoming game against Miami.
Douglas, who played for the Cardinals from 2004-2007, is one of the top receivers in program history with 2,924 career receiving yards.
His 223 receiving yards in 13 catches against Kentucky in 2007 remains a school single-game record.
He helped Louisville post a 12-1 record in 2006 with 1,265 receiving yards in 70 receptions, the second-most by a Cardinal, while also leading the team to the Big East Championship and an Orange Bowl win over Wake Forest.
Douglas was a third-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in 2008 and played nine seasons in the NFL for Atlanta and the Tennessee Titans.
He’s now an NFL analyst for ESPN.
Before enjoying a nine-season NFL career, Bridgewater played for the Cardinals from 2011-2013.
The quarterback threw for 9,817 career yards and 83 touchdowns over 39 games and earned MVP honors leading Louisville to a 33-22 win over No. 2 Florida in the 2013 BCS Sugar Bowl.
Bridgewater then passed for 447 yards and three touchdowns against Miami in UofL’s Russell Athletic Bowl win.
Bridgewater was a first-round selection of the Minnesota Vikings in 2014.
He played for the Vikings, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2015.
Bridgewater was also recently named a member of the 2024 Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame class.
