The Mizzou baseball team sent the series versus No. 15 South Carolina to a rubber match on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers topped the Gamecocks 8-3 at Taylor Stadium to even up the series.
The MU bats were live out of the gates, with a four-run first inning off the bats of Helias alum Trevor Austin, Mateo Serna and Drew Culbertson.
Culbertson paced the Tigers with the team-high three RBI in the victory, while Jedier Hernandez and Jackson Lovich also brought home runners for MU.
Javyn Pimental got the start on the hill for Mizzou, but was pulled in the first inning after an injury.
There hasn’t been any update on his condition yet.
After that, Carter Rustad came in and earned the win over the Gamecocks to improve to 5-6 on the year.
He threw for 6.2 innings and allowed three earned runs on five hits. He also fanned six batters.
The greatest basketball coach in Mizzou history is now the 51st person inducted into the “Hall of Famous Missourians” at the state capitol in Jefferson City.

“Forever a Tiger, forever a legend… please join me in welcoming Norm Stewart into the Hall of Famous Missourians,” House Speaker Dean Plocher said on the Missouri House of Representatives floor before a crowd of Stewart’s family members, former players, Mizzou dignitaries, and lawmakers.
The House was not in session during the ceremony.
Stewart’s ‘forever a tiger’ now, as he has a place in the hallowed hall in the Missouri Capitol Rotunda.
