John Bonham’s Son, Jason, to Curate Zeppelin Tribute Tour Featuring Rock’s Biggest Names

A world tour will honor Bonham’s legacy with special guests from Metallica, Foo Fighters, and more.

In what promises to be one of the most electrifying rock events of the decade, Jason Bonham, son of legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, has announced a worldwide tribute tour honoring his father’s enduring legacy. Titled “Bonham: The Legacy Lives On,” the tour will feature an all-star lineup of musicians, including members of Metallica, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Greta Van Fleet, and several surprise guests.

Set to launch in March 2026, the tour will visit over 30 major cities across North America, Europe, Asia, and South America, blending raw Zeppelin energy with the unique styles of modern rock’s biggest names. More than a simple tribute show, this project is being curated as a celebration of John Bonham’s revolutionary drumming and his profound influence on generations of musicians.

Jason Bonham, an acclaimed drummer in his own right, shared his motivation behind the tour in a heartfelt statement:

“For years, fans have asked me what it was like growing up as John Bonham’s son. This tour is my way of answering — not just through stories, but through music. It’s a living tribute to a man who changed rock drumming forever.”

The lineup reads like a rock hall of fame. Lars Ulrich of Metallica will join the tour for select European dates, while Taylor Hawkins’ former bandmates in Foo Fighters are set to take the stage for the North American leg, with rotating guest drummers paying homage to Bonham’s signature style on tracks like “Moby Dick,” “When the Levee Breaks,” and “Good Times Bad Times.”

Notably, Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age is rumored to take on vocal duties for several Zeppelin deep cuts, while rising stars like Greta Van Fleet — often compared to Led Zeppelin for their retro sound — will open select shows and perform collaborative sets with the core band.

Each night will feature a carefully curated setlist combining Led Zeppelin classics, deep cuts, and a few surprise covers of Bonham’s favorite artists. A multi-screen video backdrop will showcase archival footage of John Bonham, family photos, and behind-the-scenes clips, creating an immersive, emotionally charged experience for fans.

The tribute tour also aims to give back. A portion of the proceeds will go to the John Bonham Memorial Fund, a UK-based charity supporting music education and mental health programs for young musicians. “My father believed in raw passion, but also discipline and learning,” Jason noted. “He’d want to see kids picking up drumsticks instead of giving up on their dreams.”

The rock community has already responded with overwhelming support. Robert Plant issued a brief message of encouragement: “John’s fire lives on through Jason. This tour will echo with every beat he ever laid down.” Meanwhile, Jimmy Page, though not officially participating, is rumored to appear as a guest at the London show — a move that would surely make headlines across the music world.

Tickets for Bonham: The Legacy Lives On are expected to go on sale in August 2025, with pre-sale access granted to fan club members and legacy Zeppelin fans. VIP packages will include exclusive meet-and-greets with Jason Bonham, behind-the-scenes access, and limited-edition memorabilia featuring artwork inspired by Bonham’s iconic drum kits.

For millions of fans worldwide, this tour is more than nostalgia — it’s a chance to honor a man whose thunderous rhythms formed the backbone of one of the greatest bands in history. As Jason Bonham put it:

“This is for my dad. This is for every drummer who picked up the sticks because of him. This is for the heartb

eat of rock and roll.”
