Arkansas’ Wehiwa Aloy is one of 30 semifinalists for the Brooks Wallace Award, which honors the nation’s top shortstop. The award, presented by the College Baseball Foundation, is named for former Texas Tech shortstop Brooks Wallace, who played for the Red Raiders from 1977 to 1980 and died of leukemia at the age of 27.

Semifinalists were identified based on their offensive and defensive performances this season. Finalists for the Brooks Wallace Award will be announced on June 4, with the winner to be announced at a date to be finalized later that month.

The junior, who has started every game at shortstop, is on his way to producing of the best offensive seasons in program history, leading the Razorbacks in nearly every major category: batting average (.358), slugging percentage (.677), on-base plus slugging (1.117), runs scored (72), base hits (82), doubles (17), home runs (18) and extra-base hits (36).
