If anyone came up to me and asked me to recommend a high-end gaming laptop the Medion Erazer Major X20 is now what I’d suggest. Performance is extremely impressive regardless of the price and the keyboard and speaker system can hold their own against the best on the market.
MEDION is a publicly traded stock company with headquarters in Essen, Germany, and has approximately 1000 dedicated employees. Since 2011 the company has been part of the international Lenovo Group, the world’s largest PC supplier.
At the most prestigious event in the world of technology, CES 2024 in Las Vegas, ERAZER ushered in a new era of portable gaming. The acclaimed ERAZER Beast X40 and ERAZER Major X20 laptops are now powered by the latest generation of Intel processors, redefining the standards for performance and immersiveness.
ERAZER Beast X40 and Beast X40e
The already powerful Beast X40, protagonist of the awards, is now even more formidable thanks to the latest generation Intel Core™ i9-14900HX processor. The combination with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 16 GB VRAM ensures an extraordinary graphics experience, while NVIDIA G-Sync technology offers smooth and immersive gameplay.
The ERAZER Beast X40e is the new addition to the family, with a similar design to its predecessor but featuring an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 8GB VRAM. While it maintains power, the ERAZER external liquid cooling system is not compatible with the X40e, offering a clear choice for gaming enthusiasts looking for a custom cooling option.
Both models boast 1TB PCIe Gen 4×4 SSD and 32GB of DDR5 5,600MHz RAM, ideal for in-game streaming and recording. The 17-inch QHD+ 240 Hertz 100% sRGB display offers a stable and clear view, while the CHERRY MX Ultra Low Profile mechanical keyboard with RGB backlighting guarantees precision and style during intense gaming sessions.
The Erazer has a metal chassis
The Erazer Beast X40 eschews a loud and flashy look in favour of a subdued design that wouldn’t stand out in a professional setting. As with its predecessors, the X40 uses a black metal chassis with matt finishes. The base section is covered in a grippy rubber coating.
The keyboard backlight (RGB) as well as two fully configurable LED strips (RGB) above the rear exhaust vents provide the laptop with a dash of colour. The battery, which is screwed down rather than glued on, and the rest of the internals are accessible once the bottom cover is removed.
ERAZER Major X20
The ERAZER Major X20, equipped with the Intel Core™ i9-14900HX processor, is ready for demanding gaming challenges and more. With an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 8 GB VRAM laptop GPU and NVIDIA G-Sync technology, it offers in-game fluidity, immersive gameplay and significantly reduced tearing.
With two 1TB PCIe Gen 4×4 SSDs and 32GB of DDR5 5,600MHz RAM, the Major X20 delivers fast loading times and fast startups. The 100% QHD+ sRGB 16:10 display provides optimal gaming overview, while the CHERRY MX Ultra Low Profile mechanical keyboard offers precision and sensitivity. Two Nahimic 3D audio speakers complete the experience for immersive audio.
The Power of New Intel Processors
The new generation of Intel processors with hybrid architecture has been designed to maximize performance even in the most demanding games. With high-performance cores (P-cores) and smaller E-cores to optimize efficiency, the integrated Intel Thread Director ensures efficient multitasking, maintaining high performance during gaming.
